Family Tip - Ease the “new” step-parent into a blended family.
Let the biological or custodial parent retain the responsibility for control and discipline until the step-parent has developed a solid bond with the children. Recognize that this may take years to develop. Until then, step-parents should try to develop a relationship of “counselor.”
